WINDOWS

Configuring Windows VISTA
  • Unicode Bangla is built in enabled. No need to configure anything.

Configuring Windows XP
  • Go to Control Panel > Regional and Language Options
  • In the Language tab, select Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai)
  • You need Windows Xp CD to complete installing of the necessary system files.
  • Restart the computer if it want.
  • If you lost your windows cd then you need Complex Script Installer. Click here to download Complex Script Installer 2.0.0.

Configuring Windows 2000
  • Go to Control Panel > Regional Options
  • In the General tab look for Language settings for the system
  • Select Indic from the list. Click Ok. You have done configuring!
  • You might need Windows Xp CD to complete installing of the necessary system files.
  • Restart the computer if it want.

Configuring Windows 2003 Server
  • Go to Control Panel > Regional and Language Options
  • In Language tab select Install files for complex script and right-to-left languages (including Thai). Click Ok.
  • You might need Windows Xp CD to complete installing of the necessary system files.
  • Restart the computer if it want.

LINUX

Linux with Gnome Desktop

  • No need to configure anything. Only download unicode Bangla fonts and install it.
  • When using Mozilla or Firefox, you must enable Pango rendering by opening xterm and typing MOZ_ENABLE_PANGO=1 mozilla or MOZ_ENABLE_PANGO=1 firefox.
  • Now your browser have Bangla language support. (Make sure you have firefox 2.o or recent version. Older version don't support Unicode Bangla)

Linux with KDE Desktop

  • * No need to configure anything. Only download unicode Bangla fonts and install it.
  • * Make sure to support Bangla when install Linux.

Mac OS X
  • Unicode Bangla is built in enabled. No need to configure anything.
  • Only download Apple Advance Typography (AAT) supported unicode Bangla fonts and install it.
  • Download AAT Font from Ekushey.
  • Use Safari Browser to view unicode Bangla.
